Reflection:

To begin Contemporary Media Practice 3, our first task in conjunction with the theme of ‘Broadcasting Yourself’ was to produce a vlog or podcast to talk about our thoughts regarding year one Media Studies. I decided to record a short vlog just talking about what I enjoyed the most and what module I learnt the most from.  I recorded it on the spot using the video option my iPhone 6s in 60 frames per second. This was then uploaded to Vimeo. Without the use of proper camera, the iPhone prove to be a more effective vloging tool than I imagined.

 

Evaluation:

This task was difficult in the sense that I had no experience at vloging before previously, so it is very unnatural for me. It was interesting to try and arrange a vloging set up to record, to make sure that lighting and positioning were suitable.  I decided to keep my vlog short as I didn’t have a lot to talk about and if there was an audience watching, it would keep them engaged. To do it again, I would have to record it and take it through an editing process to produce a more fluid vlog, inserting more content into the video as well.
